Where the texts come from
The English texts come from the official English versions published by the European Union (EU) on EUR-Lex, the United Kingdom (UK) on GOV.UK and UK Parliament, and Gibraltar (the Acts and legal notices that change Gibraltar's law for the treaty, from Gibraltar Laws and the Gibraltar Gazette, and Gibraltar Parliament records: Hansard, Bills and Command Papers), plus HM Government of Gibraltar and European Commission press releases where a statement is quoted. Where a text exists only in Spanish (BOE), we quote it in Spanish and say so, and any translation beside it is ours.

What is kept: your email address, the topics you chose, the language of the page and the time, in this site's own store, held with Cloudflare, the company that hosts the site. For up to two hours, a count tied to a scrambled form of your network address is also kept, to limit use of the form. The address itself is not kept. Why: to tell you when alerts start. Who reads it: the people who keep these pages. It is not published and this site sends it nowhere else. The sources these pages rest on
The treaty documents on this site are built from the signed texts and from official records. This part lists the main sources outside the treaty texts, and how often the site checks for new ones.
Hansard of the Gibraltar Parliament
Hansard is the Parliament's official record of what is said in it. It is the primary source on this site for what Ministers and other Members have said in the Gibraltar Parliament. For a statement made in Parliament, the page What has been said in Parliament and in public, checked against the text quotes Hansard with the date, session and page. A press report of the same statement is a second reference only. Where only a press report exists, the page says so and says the statement is not on the parliamentary record so far.
The 30 sittings of 2026 held, and 3 sets of written answers, with the Parliament's own record of each:
House of Lords European Affairs Committee, report HL Paper 62, Scrutiny of International Agreements: Agreement in respect of Gibraltar (2nd Report of Session 2026–27, published 14 October 2026)
House of Lords European Affairs Committee, supplementary and written evidence on the agreement: Lord Wood of Anfield, 30 September 2026 (GIB0001); the Chief Minister of Gibraltar, 7 October 2026 (GIB0002); the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Gibraltar (GIB0003)
House of Lords Library, In Focus: UK- Agreement in respect of Gibraltar, 14 October 2026 (a Library paper, not a record of what was said in a House)The EUThe European Union (EU). The treaty also names the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom), a separate body run alongside it.

How often the site checks for new sittings. Four checks look at the parliaments. (1) Every morning at 09:00 a script reads the Gibraltar Parliament's Hansard index page and downloads each new sitting PDF of the current year, waiting three seconds between downloads. (2) A monitoring service collects Gibraltar and UK parliamentary records twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. (3) On Mondays the watch writes a list of everything new that week, by source. (4) A routine run twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, looks for new sittings, written answers and UK Hansard. Reading a new sitting into the texts is done by a person afterwards; nothing here changes a page by itself.
Gaps found on 6 October 2026. Hansard for 29 September and 2 October 2026 was not yet published. The Budget debate after the morning of 7 July 2026 is not on the Parliament's index. Written answers after July 2026 are not published. The Parliament's consolidated volume for September 2025 to January 2026 is not held. Nothing was fetched to fill these.
Government of Gibraltar guidance documents
The Government of Gibraltar has published these guidance documents on goods and customs. They are the Government's own statements about how the treaty's goods rules apply, not the treaty text. They are held, and checked every Monday for changes.

The House of Lords European Affairs Committee reported the Gibraltar agreement for the House's special attention and debate on 14 October 2026.
Its report (HL Paper 62, 2nd Report of Session 2026–27) says the agreement is politically important because it settles a significant post-Brexit issue concerning Gibraltar's relationship with the EU, and that the process under the Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010 gives the House its only opportunity to debate the agreement in detail before ratification is complete. The report describes what the agreement contains and does not criticise its text; its only recommendation is that the House debate it. The report gives 22 October 2026 as the date the period under that Act ends. The House of Lords Library page of 14 October 2026 says the House of Lords is scheduled to debate a motion to take note of the agreement in Grand Committee on 20 October 2026, moved by the committee's chair.

The Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly adopted a draft decision on Gibraltar on 15 October 2026 that welcomes the signing of the agreement on 14 July 2026.
The draft decision (document A/C.4/81/L.3, 7 October 2026, submitted by the Chair) says that the Assembly "welcomes the signing on 14 July 2026 of an agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom in respect of Gibraltar", and that it "takes note that the agreement is without prejudice to the respective legal positions of Spain and the United Kingdom with regard to sovereignty and jurisdiction, and reaffirms that those positions remain unchanged". The UN's press summary of the meeting (GA/SPD/841, marked "For information media. Not an official record.") says the draft decision was adopted by a recorded vote of 161 in favour to 2 against (Israel, United States), with 2 abstentions (France, Honduras).

Where it goes and how it is graded: Where the treaty documents deal with how the agreement has been received and with sovereignty: a dated line, graded as the United Nations text's own statement of what the Committee did. What the draft decision says about the legal positions of Spain and the UK matches what the agreement provides on sovereignty: that the agreement, and what is done under it, are without prejudice to, and do not otherwise affect, the legal positions of the UK and of Spain with regard to sovereignty and jurisdiction

The Annual Report of the Independent Monitoring Authority (IMA) for 2025 was listed to be laid in the Gibraltar Parliament on 14 October 2026.
The IMA is the body that monitors the part of the Withdrawal Agreement on citizens' rights in the UK and Gibraltar; the report is about that agreement, not the treaty texts, and has an annex on Gibraltar. The Parliament's revised agenda of 14 October 2026 lists it to be laid on the Table by the Chief Minister, and the report is on the Parliament's papers-laid page. It is listed here as an official source on residents' rights.

The Minister of State for Europe, North America and UK Overseas Territories wrote to the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons about the Gibraltar treaty on 10 March 2026; the committee published the letter on 19 March 2026.
The letter, from Stephen Doughty MP, replies to the Chair's letter of 2 March 2026. It says: "All sides are working at pace to enable the Treaty’s provisional application before the EU’s new Entry-Exit System comes into effect, which has a deadline of 10 April". It adds that comprehensive implementation "will continue at pace, with an expectation that the UK and EU will be able to ratify the Treaty in early 2027". It says the Treaty "will be subject to parliamentary scrutiny pursuant to the Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010" and that "we consider the existing framework for treaty scrutiny appropriate". The Minister adds that, should the committee wish it, "I would be happy to appear before it to answer any questions your members might have". The dates and expectations are those the letter gave on 10 March 2026; they are not checked against later events on this page.
